Macaroni and Cheese has got to be an All-American dish right up there with hamburgers and apple pie. It is certainly popular in Cajun country too, and a Cajun Cooking favorite. This macaroni and cheese recipe is so good that we’ve even made it as an entree, although it was originally prepared as a side item. There are a lot of macaroni and cheese recipes out there, but you owe it to yourself (and your family!) to try this one. It can’t be beat! This is the real thing when it comes to real home-style baked macaroni and cheese.

It was so nice to discover your website! My husband, myself and our four grown children along with their families(all of us from New Orleans), were the grateful recipients of Baton Rouge’s hospitality for eight months due to Hurricane Katrina, and, later Gustav. After four years we are just now settling back down. One of the treasured items lost to Katrina was a book of recipes compiled over the years for my kids with all of our favorite dishes. While looking for crawfish bisque, I found your site. I have spent the entire afternoon listening to your calm voice and instructions on just good family eating! Thankyou very much. These recipes will help us rebuild that family binder. And, now, three new grandchildren (one welcomed into the world at Women’s hospital during the height of Katrina) will also be able to enjoy those recipes.
